Frequently asked
Is my data private?
Completely. Orbit has no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated data server. Your Orbit stays on your devices and in your private iCloud container, which Beyond Tomorrow Studios cannot access. See our privacy policy for the full details.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Orbit automatically syncs through your private iCloud container when iCloud Drive is available. Sign into the same Apple Account on your new iPhone and open Orbit to restore your relationships, memories, settings, and photos.
How do I delete my data?
Delete specific people or memories inside Orbit. Uninstalling removes local data from that iPhone, but synced data may remain in iCloud and return after reinstalling. To remove the synced copy too, delete Orbit's data from your Apple Account's iCloud storage settings.
Notifications aren't appearing on my lock screen
Orbit uses local notifications only — no push server. If you're not seeing them:
- Open Settings → Notifications → Orbit on your iPhone and make sure Allow Notifications is on.
- Check that the banner style is set to Persistent or Temporary, not Off.
- Make sure Focus / Do Not Disturb isn't silencing Orbit.
- If you just installed the app, Orbit will start scheduling notifications as soon as you log your first interaction or add a contact with a last-contact date.
The home screen widget isn't updating
iOS decides when to refresh widgets — Orbit can't force them. A widget updates:
- Every time you open and close the Orbit app.
- Periodically in the background (roughly every few hours, at iOS's discretion).
- After you log a new meeting, call, or text.
If your widget still feels stale, long-press it, remove it, and add it back.
Can I import from Google Contacts or another app?
Right now Orbit imports from your iPhone's built-in Contacts app. If your Google/Outlook/other contacts are already synced to iOS Contacts, they'll appear in Orbit's import list automatically.
Is Orbit available on Android or the web?
Orbit is iPhone-only for now. We wanted to get the iOS experience right first — things like native haptics, Widgets, and smooth animations matter to us. Android is on the wishlist but we don't have a date.
Is Orbit free?
Yes. Free to download, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads. If that ever changes we'll make it clear and never take anything away from you that you already have.
How do I reset Orbit without deleting the app?
Right now the cleanest way is to uninstall and reinstall. A "clear all data" button is on our feature request list — let us know if you want it.

Orbit is shaped by the people who use it. If something's missing or you have an idea, write to us at the email above. We read every message.
Known limitations
- iPhone only (no iPad or Mac app).
- Cross-device sync requires iCloud Drive and the same Apple Account on each device.
- Location suggestions use Apple MapKit and require a network connection; the rest of Orbit remains usable offline.
