Frequently asked

Is my data private?

Completely. Orbit stores everything locally on your iPhone. There are no accounts, no servers, no cloud, no analytics. We couldn't see your data if we wanted to. See our privacy policy for the full details.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Because Orbit is fully local, your data lives on the device. When you set up a new iPhone, restoring from an iCloud or encrypted iTunes backup will bring your Orbit data with it automatically. We don't have our own backup system — your phone's backup is the source of truth.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the Orbit app from your iPhone permanently removes every trace of your data. There's no server to wipe, no account to close. If you want to clear specific contacts or interactions without uninstalling, open the app and delete them individually from the Control Panel.

Notifications aren't appearing on my lock screen

Orbit uses local notifications only — no push server. If you're not seeing them:

The home screen widget isn't updating

iOS decides when to refresh widgets — Orbit can't force them. A widget updates:

If your widget still feels stale, long-press it, remove it, and add it back.

Can I import from Google Contacts or another app?

Right now Orbit imports from your iPhone's built-in Contacts app. If your Google/Outlook/other contacts are already synced to iOS Contacts, they'll appear in Orbit's import list automatically.

Is Orbit available on Android or the web?

Orbit is iPhone-only for now. We wanted to get the iOS experience right first — things like native haptics, Widgets, and smooth animations matter to us. Android is on the wishlist but we don't have a date.

Is Orbit free?

Yes. Free to download, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads. If that ever changes we'll make it clear and never take anything away from you that you already have.

How do I reset Orbit without deleting the app?

Right now the cleanest way is to uninstall and reinstall. A "clear all data" button is on our feature request list — let us know if you want it.
